Christina has tried to take every opportunity that has presented itself with an open mind and a humble attitude. She has had the pleasure of training and working with some incredible horsemen and women. She looks forward to growing this list of amazing opportunities and experiences that have developed her into the horsewoman she is today. Makers mark secretariat center

Barn and Training Management Internship. Assisting in re-training adoptable racehorses, daily barn chores, helping with management of program horses, and showing them to potential adopters. Exposed to all aspects of what is required of a business of this sort.

Lisa barry equestrian

Barn and Program Manager/ Head Groom. In charge of handling the programs horses on all levels. Tasked with managing a couple of other working students. Basic farm management, keeping everything tidied and in working order. Riding and helping train young up and coming horses along with conditioning and working competition horses.

ballymac stud

Travelled to Ireland for a 2 week working student position with Stephen and Trevor Smith. Stephen has been the top rider in Ireland for 25 years. His brother Trevor attended the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, representing Ireland. Rode a number of horses for them, lived on property above the yard, basic barn chores, groomed at shows, helped set up and coach a pony club team, etc.

Yearlings and Weanlings department. Hot walking yearlings, barn chores, basic veterinary care, in charge of the feeding schedule, keeping track of weanlings and health information.
